Don’t worry, I’m not picking on retirees – this is a series!
Over the next few weeks, we’re going to look at specific ways to get different groups of people involved in marketing for your church or school.

First up, retirees…
1) Photography Assistance
Among the churches & schools I’ve worked with, the most common need is for current photos.
Newer iPhones take photos that are high enough quality for social media & websites. If the person knows how to use a “real” camera, even better!
Either way, any iPhone pic is better than a stock image!
If you’ve seen grandkid pictures on someone’s phone, they are beyond qualified to snap some shots at your next event.
Have them text you the files for easy sharing.
2) Social Media Advocacy
Encourage avid Facebook users to share your posts. Not only does this increase your engagement, but it also puts your content in front of new faces.

The best marketing strategies are well-rounded (not just online).

4) Storytelling
A successful marketing strategy has a strong “KLT” factor. This stands for Know, Like, and Trust. Nothing does this better than a personal story.
Give people the opportunity to contribute through story.
Offer some prompts (and a maximum word count) and accept submissions – see what folks come up with. These stories could be used on social media, your website, your newsletter, or could even be repurposed into really powerful video content.
